Focusing exclusively on interiors, David Fischer’s most compelling project at the 2013 Art Center show was his VW Inhabit proposal, conceived as a futuristic minibus.
It features an interior that is meant to be transformed. One mode is optimized for driving, while another is a play/live space that seeks to bring the outside in, much like an organic, automotive Fallingwater.
Thoughtful details include a table that rises from the floor, integrated tote bags and seats that convert from forward/driving oriented to central/communal focus in order to encourage occupant interaction.
