Ford chose to show the new Edge in concept form at the recent Los Angeles auto show. Though it appears to be very near-production ready, Ford design manager Kevin George insists that it is still a concept car, which may or may not signal the forthcoming Edge replacement.
“If you do concept vehicles that are a real stretch, you get criticized for not paying attention to your core business,” George told Form Trends during the above video interview. “If you do concept vehicles that are very close to production reveal, you get criticized for not being creative. What Edge Concept does is it predicts where production Edge will head, without really revealing production Edge.”
