Ducati and IAAD (Italian University for Design) are collaborating to present the ‘Ducati Design Experience’, a fully immersive course into the Ducati world. The first edition of the summer class will be held on July 15-26, alternating lessons and workshops at IAAD’s head office in Bologna and at Ducati’s factory in Borgo Panigale.
The 12-day training course is centered on Ducati and the brand’s inimitable style. It will include conferences, workshops and experiences that will carry participants into the world of Ducati under the guidance and tutelage of Ducati professionals and IAAD lecturers.
Participants will be involved in a journey
into the brand, invited to study the company’s brand values and the complete
design development process of a motorcycle from within the Centro Stile Ducati,
an area not usually frequented by outsiders
Taught in English, the study path comprises three modules: explore, discover
and create. Each module will include educational moments at IAAD’s head office
in Bologna and workshops held in the corporate offices.
Participants will be divided into teams and assigned projects to be developed on various topics. The course will not only discuss bikes, but the entire world that surrounds the Ducati brand – conceiving ideas for new products, business models and opportunities. The final results will be presented to a Design Committee made up of Ducati and IAAD experts.
The summer class is open to students enrolled in the second year of their bachelor degree studies, alumni and young professionals from Design, Architecture and Marketing/Communication fields who want to further explore their training path in a context of excellence and international relations.
IAAD constantly collaborates with leading companies in the sector for the realization of joint projects and internships. Converging in the projects educational needs and those of partner companies creates a favorable situation for those involved: aspiring designers have the opportunity to work with leading industries and the latter can assess future talents to be included in their organizations.
This system also simulates the conditions of work in a professional environment: students work with precise deadlines, correcting the work in progress by following customer feedback, working in teams and meeting objectives. At the end of the course, all students will have the opportunity to be evaluated for a possible internship in Ducati.
Enrollment for the ‘Ducati Design Experience’ summer class is already open and will close on June 20, 2019. For information about admission criteria and procedures, visit the IAAD website or write to [email protected].
