Mercedes-Benz Designers Talk C-Class

The C-Class was one of the stars of the recent Detroit auto show. While it’s exterior design carries forward design signatures of Mercedes-Benz sedans — as seen on the recent S-Class but on a smaller scale — the interior is several classes above the segment in which it sits.

“Our goal was to create a very emotional design that combines avant-garde with modern luxury,” says Mercedes-Benz head of design Gorden Wagener. “The new C-Class showcases the new design language already shown on the new S-Class in a very sporty way.”

Check out the video to hear more from Wagener as well as interior designer Michele Paganetti from Daimler’s advanced design center in Como, Italy, and Robert Lesnik, who was recently appointed Mercedes-Benz head of exterior design following Hans Dieter Futschik’s retirement.
