Daniel Starke to Head Rolls-Royce Interiors

Rolls-Royce has announced the appointment of Daniel Starke as Head of Interior Design with immediate effect.

Starke, who joins exterior design director Marcus Syring, began his career as an exterior designer for Volkswagen in 1993. He later worked on interior and exterior projects at Audi before moving to the interior design team at BMW in 2001.

In 2009 he was appointed head of interior design for BMW i, where he was responsible for the interior design of the BMW i3 and i8.


Starke replaces Alan Sheppard who is moving to a new role within Rolls-Royce as head of color, materials and accessories design, leading the expanding team.

“We are delighted to welcome Daniel to the Rolls-Royce family,” said Rolls-Royce director of design Giles Taylor. “His considerable design experience, proven track record and contemporary thinking are an ideal match for the world’s leading luxury company. He will be a very valuable addition to the Rolls‑Royce design team.”

Starke was born in Subotica, former Yugoslavia, and brought up in the Netherlands. He holds a degree in Automotive Design from Pforzheim University‘s School of of Applied Sciences and speaks several languages including English, German and Dutch.
